PADS Router Basic Settings

A good starting point for getting started with the PADS VX Router: these settings provide the best interactive experience when using the router. Also included is a video tip on how to create a keepout area based on a trace.

The following settings are good default settings for getting started with the PADS Router program. They also maximize interactivity. The settings are shown in the images in the PDF manual.

Options

  • The font size and repetition settings for the “Net Name” text, if ” Traces” is selected under “Show net names. “
  • The Interactive Routing and Plower settings affect the router’s operation when routing manually. With the settings in this guide, interactivity is set to the maximum.
  • Tune Rules for Distance-Based Races.
  • AutoRouter settings.

Design Properties

The numerical values in the settings of this guide are examples. They should be set based on the complexity of the project and the capabilities of the PCB manufacturer.

Tip: Based on the “keepout” bet

The video demonstrates how to create a keepout based on a line, which can be copied to another layer.
