Instructions · Licensing
Here’s how to update the Siemens/Mentor license file on your workstation and verify that the license is working using the PCLS_OK program. These instructions are for PADS, HyperLynx, and Xpedition users who have a local license file.
Siemens/Mentor licenses include all PADS, HyperLynx, Xpedition, and other software. The license file ` license.txt ` is saved by default in the directory ` C:\MentorGraphics\License_files` during software installation.
The license file to be used is specified in the environment variables ` SALT_LICENSE_SERVER ` and ` MGLS_LICENSE_FILE`, for example:
SALT_LICENSE_SERVER = C:\MentorGraphics\License_files\license.txtMGLS_LICENSE_FILE = C:\MentorGraphics\License_files\license.txtYou can check the configuration in the Command Prompt using the commands ` set salt ` and ` set mgls`. For example, the command ` C:\>set salt ` prints the line ` SALT_LICENSE_SERVER=C:\MentorGraphics\License_files\license.txt`.
To update the license, simply copy the new license file over the existing ” license.txt” file.
